Ponce City Market is, as the name suggests, a mixed market area. It is filled with diverse food and drink options from a variety of vendors. If you are a foodie interested in trying Indian chaats, Asian ramen, or anything else, this is the place for you. If you are a shopaholic, there are several popular name brand stores to browse in as well. However, if you are not looking to spend money, Ponce City Market is great for the walk and ambiance. There are several murals, paintings, galleries, and shops that you can browse and enjoy. It is also a great place to just dress up and take pictures or catch up with a friend due to its central location. Their rooftop does have an entry fee, but offers lots of views, games, and more as well. Regardless - you need to check it out!

High Museum of Art

High Museum of Art is amazing for the expert art aficionado, as well as the casual onlooker. This museum allows you to explore a new theme each month, with related artworks, art projects, and self-guided tours.The High Museum of Art’s collection is curated to perfection and rotating frequently, so there are always new exhibitions and events to enjoy if you want to visit again. Tickets are free on the second Sunday of each month, but you must still go online and reserve your spot.

Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area & Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve

The Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area offers 40,000 acres for hiking, biking, fishing and geocaching. It is actively used for diverse purposes, and encompasses a variety of terrains, such as wetlands, rock outcrops, temperate forests, and fields. Learn more and immerse yourself in the nature around you! The best part about enjoying this nature is that it is also free.

Fernbank Science Center

The Fernbank science center is a great place to discover more about science and nature as well. However, this science center takes a more technologically advanced approach, allowing guests to view permanent exhibits about Apollo 6 and space, live animals, evolving photography. There is a lot to observe, look at and learn. There are also hands-on activities for children and adults to get more involved, too. So, put on your thinking caps and best scientist outfit and take a trip to the Fernbank Science Center!

Georgia Aquarium 

Check out your local public library! A lot of libraries allow you to check out and loan a Georgia Aquarium pass or two. This will allow you to enter the Georgia Aquarium for free and explore all that they have to offer! The Georgia Aquarium gives you the unique experience of meeting hundreds of species and thousands of animals across its seven major galleries, all of which reside in more than 11 million U.S. gallons of water! You can watch the dolphins, pet the stingrays, and learn more about our oceans and marine life. It is definitely worth a visit and makes a cute date idea or family trip as well.

Westside Park

Westside Reservoir Park, formerly known as Bellwood Quarry, is the largest green space in Atlanta! It is a great place to hike a trail, bike a paved one, and enjoy the outdoors. You can even bring your own picnic basket filled with snacks to enjoy. This park was a great investment, amounting to nearly $44 million dollars, so the community can enjoy it at no cost, and just work to keep it clean and green. Enjoy the fresh air!

Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park

Visit Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park to pay respects to the civil rights activist and influential leader. Dr. King grew up in this modest home, which is now preserved to resemble how it looked when he was a child. At this historical park, you can learn more about Dr .King and his life, as well as his great contributions. Furthermore, you can also visit the King Center and explore Atlanta's Sweet Auburn Historic District, the center of one of the most important historical African American communities.

Atlanta Belt-Line

Finally, take a walk (and a selfie) at the Atlanta Belt-Line with some friends, family, pets, or even yourself! The Atlanta Belt-Line is a great place to walk, ride your bike, and even take pictures. It is known as “where Atlanta comes together”, as you can explore the skyline, culture, people, and so much more all in one place.
